Services

Thai Massage often quickly becomes my clients’ preferred choice for future massages, and involves acupressure, assisted and passive yoga-like stretches, reflexology, and energy line work. Clients are fully clothed and the treatment is given on a mat on the floor, utilizing thumbs, palms, hands, elbows, knees, forearms, feet and toes along the body’s “sen” (energy lines) and “marma” points. Slow and continuous wave-like movements and compressions unblock the physical and energetic body. This relieves muscular tension, increases circulation, aids detoxification, relaxes and balances the body. Again, the amount of pressure is your choice.

Thai massage helps improve the flexibility and mobility in your body; you do not have to be flexible to receive it!

Meet Dhyana

Hello. I’m glad you’re here. I have been practicing Thai Ayurvedic Massage since 2016 and graduated with 950 hrs from the highly reputable Florida School of Massage in Gainesville. There I also assistant taught in several of Ariela Grodner’s 108 hour Nuad Boran Thai Massage certificate courses in 2019. I practice in the tradition of Northern Thai style taught by Kam Thye Chow and the Sunshine network in Chiang Mai.

I offer Thai Massage and deep Connective Tissue Therapy, in an integrated manner that is both effective and deeply relaxing. I love the subtle and significant shifts I have felt and witnessed in a therapeutic massage.
Tuning into awareness within began in Montessori school at age three with hatha yoga, being barefoot in nature, and listening to birdsong. Love of the natural world was nurtured at Audubon camps and in undergraduate ecology study. Now, twenty years of exploring qigong, meditation, dance and somatic movement inform my intuitive contact to help you find comfort and ease in your body.

Music has played a major role in my developing sensitivity, through the harmonies of song and the resonance of the vibration of playing violin.

Years ago, I founded Full Moon Girls, engaging girls in life-changing nature mentoring to awaken their relationship with all of life. In 2006, I completed a B.A. in Experiential Education & Conservation Ecology with an emphasis in dance at Hampshire College. Appreciating it all, I fiddle and sing and mentor, creating opportunities for wonder and restoring our ecosystem, garden by garden. I love being out in nature.

A ripe potency resides in the healing arts to carry us into this energy-restoring aliveness in stillness.

Located at Fairfield Mind and Body, on Burlington Ave beside Terra, our professional massage studio is a perfect place to unplug and unwind.

FAQ's

Receive massage as often as you’d be happy to — for some, twice a week; for others, once a month. It all depends on what your goals are for getting a massage. If you have an acute tension/pain that you want to alleviate quickly and you experience noticeable improvement after the session, Dhyana recommends that you have a repeat session every week or two. If you get a Thai massage to maintain your health and wellness, once every three to four weeks is a good routine. If you know that you are prone to injuries and/or chronic pain, she also recommends that you have a session every month to prevent recurrence. The best way to know is to listen to your body closely and decide when you want or need a massage!

Yes, with table and Thai massage, your session will be customized to what benefits you — light, medium or firm, based on your preference.

Many people prefer 90 minutes to allow the full body massage experience. Dhyana also recommends 90- and 120- minute sessions so that she can work on your whole body, giving focus to tight or troubled areas.

Yes it can. Bringing awareness to breathing with an assisted stretch will help relax your nervous system. Also, the rocking and rhythmic movements of Thai massage will soothe your nervous system.

Something warm and stretchy or loose-fitting such as yoga clothes, workout clothes or house wear. Minimize jewelry.

Thai massage can be gentle or firm pressure as you wish.

If you are unfamiliar with massage therapy techniques and approaches, all you have to do is speak with Dhyana about any specific complaints or goals you may have. She is trained in a variety of techniques, and can even combine different techniques to address your needs.
